Dementia Training

There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK. By 2021 there will be over 940,000 people living with dementia and this will soar to 1.7 million by 2050.

One in three people over 65 will die with dementia. More than 60 per cent of all care home residents, aged over 65, have a form of dementia. There are over 16,000 people under 65 with dementia in the UK.

These are not just statistics; they represent millions of families with loved ones who require special care, both at home and in nursing homes.

Dementia is a constant learning curve, Home Instead Senior Care will facilitate training

at the DRC on:

image001MRS FREDA ROSE BROADBENT passed away peacefully on Tuesday 9th December, aged 96

For many years Freda was an active member of the Hard of Hearing club – she had a lovely giggle and enjoyed whatever was planned

She will be sadly missed by all her friends at the DRC

 

Disabled Persons Railcard Applications

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Residents of St Helens can now bring their applications for a Disabled Persons Railcard  to the Deafness Resource Centre to be stamped.*

If you wear hearing aids, we will need to see the front page of your NHS battery book, or a copy of your dispensing prescription from a private hearing aid supplier.Disabled-Persons-Railcard
