At Deafness Resource Centre, we are always looking to improve our services and we value any feedback from our customers

I cannot praise the organisation too highly.  My life has been much easier with the advice and equipment I have received.
Thank you so very much.

“This is the first time I have booked [an Interpreter] with the Deafness Resource Centre.  The choice of ways to book an interpreter is good ranging from emailing, to speaking to someone on the phone or faxing a request.

When I spoke to the booking agent she was friendly and efficient and the whole process was very easy from  start to finish. What a refreshing change not to dread trying to book an interpreter.”

Michelle Thomas, Physiotherapist

Communications Service Review, November 2014

‘I started to come along to the Happy Hands group in September 2013 with my daughter Florence, then 15 months. Florence has multi-needs including communication difficulties and at that point had no language. I was very nervous attending the 1st time but we were very quickly welcomed by the fantastic Graham, Fiona & Joy as well as the other families. Happy Hands has had such a positive impact on our family as my other children atend the group too and enjoy it so much. We now use British Sign Language daily and it has helped Florence to overcome her frustration with speech. At 21 months she can now say 5 words and can sign 15 words, we are very grateful for everyones warmth and encouragement.

” I have always found Deafness Resource Centre to be friendly, supportive and professional they are a pleasure to work with and for. I know that when I work for them as an interpreter that I am treated like a professional and will be well looked after by the team should I need anything. The organisation does such good work but that definitely wouldn’t be possible without the all the fantastic staff that I have had the pleasure of working with so far.  A really high quality, personal service!”

Stephen Menton, BA(Hons) MASLI, RSLI, TAQC, BSL -English Interpreter, BSL Interpretations Ltd

“I thought that the Deaf Awareness & Basic Sign Language sessions were excellent in terms of their content and were very well presented. Amie & Graham managed to engage the children extremely well – they really enjoyed all the activiites and learned a lot from them. Amie & Graham were able to communicate with them at a level that was appropriate to their age and helped them to understand the challenges faced by people with hearing loss. I really hope that DRC will be able to come in to school again in the near future”

Lynne Rider, Headmistress of Parish Primary School

I was immediately welcomed and began working at the youth group, there is a great atmosphere among the staff and other volunteers; I was instantly made to feel like an important part of the organisation. I’d recommend volunteering to anyone who is interested in making a contribution to a worthwhile initiative”

“I have found the Deafness Resource Centre to be very attentive and very helpful; they supplied me with equipment which enabled me to listen to the TV without disturbing others, previously that would have been impossible.I am very grateful for this and would recommend any one who has hearing difficulty to contact them”

Father James Smith, St Patricks Church, Newton le Willows

“My wife and I are both a bit deaf and a friend recommended the Deafness Resource Centre to us. What wonderful and very professional staff. We were put completely at ease by Angela, who explained to us what was available and how the items might help us. We ended up with the loop system for our TV and a portable wireless electric door bell. They have made such a difference to us. We can hear the TV much clearer now and do not have it turned up to loud. The doorbell is a Godsend, as we take it to the bedroom because we cannot hear the normal doorbell when we are upstairs and have missed the postman in the past, but not any more!  I would highly recommend this service to anyone who might be wondering if its for them. It is!  And they will be glad they tried it.”
