THUMBS UP FOR COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE

The Communications Service Team at the Deafness Resource is delighted to have been “Highly Commended” in the Small Business Category at the NHS (North West) Excellence in Supply Awards 2015

At a prestigious event just outside Blackpool on 22nd October, Chairman of the Deafness Resource Centre Ernie Clark, and Communications Service Manager Evonne Evans, received the Award  on behalf of the organisation – amongst over 300 guests and dignitaries.

Evonne Evans eagerly expressed her thanks to the judging panel and explained “This accolade gives the Deafness Resource Centre the recognition it deserves for providing a professional, personalised two-way service for deaf people and the NHS services which they access.”

The Deafness Resource Centre is an independent charity based in St Helens, working across the wider region to provide British Sign Language Interpreters, Lip-speakers, Speech-to-text-reporters and Note-takers.  In the financial year 2014-2015, they filled over 900 bookings for deaf people access services from GP appointments to clinics, courses, seminars and events.

This short video shows why we applied and what the award means to us as an organisation.

NHS Excellence in supply

nhs excellence in supply

We are delighted to announce that our Communication Service has been shortlisted as a finalist for the NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply Awards 2015. This is a significant achievement given the number of entries received, and we are very proud of the recognition this gives us.

The awards ceremony will take place on 22nd October, attended by a large number of suppliers, senior procurement professionals and leaders within the NHS, and this is where we will find out if we have won, so fingers crossed!
