We are "Investors In People" - again!
In July 2011, the Deafness Resource Centre staff, volunteers and Chairman all took part in an Investor in People assessment.  The basic aim is to find out how we treat our staff and volunteers.  It looks at things like respecting staff, valuing staff input, encouraging staff development, including staff in decisions and much much more.

We can proudly say we passed with flying colours and we Invest In all the People who work and volunteer here!

This is the second time we have been awarded with the Standard

Thanks to the Landfill Communities Fund (through Cory Environmental Trust in Britain), we will be given up to £7,500
LCF logo
hall_floor_repairs_march_2011
We will use the money to re-cover the Hall Floor with a modern, hard-wearing new surface.  The current floor has splits and cracks all over it now, and is becoming a health and safety hazard, so we are very grateful for this grant.

Thanks to Friends of the Deaf for their generous contribution to the grant

Halton Contract Going Ahead

If you are a resident of Halton, you can expect to receive further information about the development of new and existing services.

Swimming Ear-Moulds

In the December 2010 newsletter, we mistakenly informed readers that Swimming moulds were free of charge from St Helens Audiology Department.  Sorry for any confusion

Please be advised that the Audiology department are able to take impressions to provide custom made “swim moulds” for ANY adult or child who would like to protect their ears whilst swimming.

Anyone requiring “swim moulds” should contact the department for an appointment for impressions. The “swim moulds” then take about 2 weeks to be processed. On receipt of the moulds from the manufacturer we will contact the recipient with a fitting appointment.

There is a charge made for EACH mould, currently this stands at £8 per mould; but this is under review (optional extras such as glitter etc are available for a small additional charge)

All back to the Palace!     June 2010
