Volunteer Needed

Deafness Resource Centre are looking for a Volunteer to work closely with a young hearing child of deaf parents to enable them to broaden their communication levels. The Volunteer will read to the child as well as help them to progress with their own speech

Volunteers should show a good level of understanding of children and have some knowledge about Deafness and Communication barriers. Minimum BSL Level 2 needed in order to communicate with parent.kid

Tinnitus Awareness Week

It’s Tinnitus Awareness Week!!

Tinnitus is a noise that may be heard in one ear, in both ears or in the middle of the head. The noise may be low, medium or high pitched. There may be a single noise or two or more components. The noise may be continuous or it may come and go, most people with Tinnitus say they have a ringing sound. Tinnitus can have a negative effect on daily life, disturbing sleep and sometimes causing anxiety and depression

Deafness Resource Centre have a number of support groups across St Helens & Halton, next sessions are as follows:
